What if I can’t wire in the currency the deal is in?
By default, Odin only supports investor transfers in the same currency the Investee Company is raising in. If the deal is denominated in USD, investors would be instructed to wire in USD by the platform.
If you don’t have a bank account in the currency of the deal, our recommendation is that you quickly create a new bank account in that specific currency with Wise or Revolut, and then wires their payment from that account.
Both Wise and Revolut offer fair FX fees, but our recommendation mainly stands for how quick and simple they are to set up accounts with. This can be important if there are tight deadlines by which you need to make your transfer. Wise is the better option of the two.
If there is no other option, Odin can accept funds in other currencies, but if we have to convert it may reduce your overall final investment amount once Odin accounts for FX fees. Odin converts at the live rate, and we cannot agree rates ahead of time for investor transfers.
