What if my Investor can't wire in the currency I'm raising in?
By default, Odin only supports investor transfers in the same currency your company is raising in. If your deal is denominated in USD, investors would be instructed to wire in USD by the platform.
If your investor doesn’t have a bank account in the currency of the deal, our recommendation is that they quickly create a new bank account in that specific currency with Wise or Revolut, and then wires their payment from that account.
- Both Wise and Revolut offer fair FX fees, but our recommendation mainly stands for how quick and simple they are to set up accounts with. This can be important if there are tight deadlines by which they need to make their transfer. Wise is the better option of the two.
If there is no other option, Odin can accept funds in other currencies, but there will be associated costs. Any FX fees incurred by Odin will be passed onto you, and Odin charges a flat rate of £500 for any deal where currency conversion is required, plus any additional FX fees incurred by Wise.
