Regular Reporting (to Investors)
The best Founders provide regular, punchy updates on their company to the investors that participated in the Founder SPV. The primary purpose of these updates is to inform investors about how the company is progressing, with relevant metrics and financial data.
A secondary purpose is to share help or advice required by your company, and solicit feedback and help from your investors. This can range from your company being on the lookout for a new Front-End Engineer all the way to exploring a new market segment that one of your investors may have experience with.
Infrequent updates can result in lost interest among investors for follow-on opportunities in the future, while too-frequent updates can annoy them. The best companies typically provide an update once per month to once per quarter, of varying length depending on what’s happened in that timeframe.
Your company can communicate these updates however you’d like. To make things easier, Odin provides a function for you to email all investors in a specific deal, directly from the deal page. Investors can then respond and ask questions via email.
