Being invited to a primary deal
Unless you have already created an Odin account previously, your first interaction with Odin will be the email you receive to be invited to a deal being hosted on Odin’s platform.
Oftentimes, the Deal Lead will email you personally with a hyperlink to access the deal on Odin, or will share an invite link with you via WhatsApp, or another messaging platform:
- If a deal is being led by a Syndicate Lead, they should also state whether you as an investor will be paying them a Syndicate Lead fee, and they should also state if they’ve decided to pro-rate Odin’s fee across their investors.
- If this is the case, the Syndicate Lead will need to communicate the actual amount you need to transfer via the Odin platform. If they haven’t done so, ask them to confirm.
Sometimes, you will receive an invitation directly from Odin (see below for an example). To access the deal, you’ll have to click the ‘Invest on Odin’ link in the email.
Upon clicking the invite link, you’ll be taken to the invite page, which explains that you’ve been invited to a deal on Odin.
Unless you have already created an Odin account previously, you will now be prompted to create an Odin account (or log in).
If you are accessing a deal on Odin for the first time, before you can view the deal page and access the details of the deal, you’ll be asked to select who you’re investing as (your investment entity) and complete any required checks for that entity (including entity-level self-certification, and an appropriateness assessment where required).
