Creating invite links and inviting investors

Investors are only able to access your deal via an invite link. This is created from your deal admin dashboard - specifically the orange ‘Invite’ button on the right hand side of the deal page.

Once clicked, a modal will be presented with the option to create ‘New Terms’.

Select that option and input the carry percentage you’d like to attribute to investors invited via this link.

You’ll also have the option to add a ‘Cash Fee’ to this invite link. In addition to the carry, this is an extra management charge you can add on to cover your own costs of syndicating the deal. This can either be a percentage of the investor’s wired amount (4% being the most common amount Odin sees) or a fixed amount (e.g. £250 per investor).

When you share an invite link with a cash fee, this fee will be added on top of the amount the investor commits. For example, if they commit £10,000 to your deal, and you’ve added a 4% fee, they’ll be asked to send £10,400. If you’d prefer for them to simply send £10,000 and deduct the 4% from the amount wired, that’s fine! They just need to send £10,000, rather than the amount specified by the platform. Please note:

• If you desire, you can elect not to charge carry or fees to your investors. You can also charge a cash fee but no carry, and vice versa.
• Cash fees are one-off and non-recurring. If you wish to charge recurring / annual fees for a deal, you’ll need to get in touch with the team to arrange a different legal structure for your deal.
• If you accidentally add a cash fee, you can click the ‘trash’ icon to remove it.

Once you’ve confirmed your carry and fee, click ‘next’.

Click ‘save and copy link’. The link is copied to your clipboard and you can now share it with any investor to invite them to the deal, via email, WhatsApp or whatever communication channel you prefer! In order to understand the flow that they go through, see the ‘investor sign-up flow’ below.

You are not limited to one specific type of deal invite link per deal. You can create as many as you want, with varying levels of carry and fees for specific investors. You can access any of these links and copy them to your clipboard by clicking the orange ‘Invite’ button at any time.
